    1. The water requirement of Beema bamboo is 182 cubic meter per ton. The annual water requirement for our bamboo is equivalent to that of sugarcane and banana which is 2000 mm.
Please note that, at present the Rice production consumes 4000 cubic meter of water to produce 1 Ton of Biomass.

    1. "Beema” is a specially bred variety by Dr.N.Barathi of Growmore Biotech Ltd., which has a potential to grow very fast and yields very high biomass since the wall thickness of “Beema” Bamboo is 3 times more than other bamboo. Beema bamboo a fastest growing plant, growing at a speed of 1.5 feet a day reaches a height of 35 feet in two and a half years.

Our Beema bamboo is cultivable, thorn less and sterile. Unlike normal bamboo, Beema bamboo does not produce seeds(sterile) and hence it never dies. Once our Beema bamboo plant is planted, it will keep growing for several decades with no more replanting.

Under intensive cultivation with the population of 1000 plants per acre, the harvesting and biomass yield starts from two and a half years at 30 tons per acre and increases to 40 tons in the next year and stabilizes at 50 tons from 5th year onwards.

Please go through your mail for further information.

    1. Thank you for your interest in Beema bamboo cultivation. We don’t have seeds for Beema bamboo, as Beema bamboo is cultivable, sterile (does not produce seeds and die). Once our Beema bamboo plant is planted, it will keep growing for several decades with no more replanting. Regarding Beema bamboo, the propagation is mainly by Tissue culture with genetic purity.

  23. Hi Growmore Biotech,

I am looking into a bamboo plantation project in Malaysia, targeting 10,000 acres. I have a few species in mind that have been backed up with reviewed literature. I know about Beema, but I have been hearing a lot of skepticism towards it. I figured I'd give Beema the benefit of doubt, but I need clarification for a few pressing issues about your claims.

1)1000 clumps per acre pretty much means the clumps are about 2m apart. That sounds way too crowded. How is it that Beema could have high yield in such conditions?

    2) At 2.5 years, does the Beema actually reach maturity? Would a 2.5-year-old culm be suitable to be used for engineered bamboo manufacturing? Since you had suggested it for biomass energy, I suppose the moisture content has reached mature levels?

    3) What is the total number of culms in a mature clump?

    4) What is a realistic yield per hectare in metric tonnes?

If you'd like to bring this discussion private, here's my email address: lucasloo.sead@gmail.com

Looking forward to a fruitful discussion.

  32. Does beema bamboo grows well in konkan, hilly area with rocky land, and what is the average life of beema bamboo.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Beema Bamboo can be grown in Konkan hilly area. In a rocky land it can grow provided if soil available is at least 50%, planting should be done in such a way that bamboo should be planted the soil depth must be at least 2 feet.

The Beema bamboo is sterile plant, doesn’t produce seed & hence doesn’t die in its lifetime. Beema bamboo lives forever with no replanting & it can grow over 100 years. If you need any more information, please write to us.
